Im Rahmen des Institutsseminars am Institut für allgemeine Physik hält Dr. Mihalea Albu vom Institute for Electron Microscopy einen Vortrag zum Thema "Comprehensive TEM nano-analytics in steels".
Dieser Vortrag findet am Dienstag, 9.6.2009 um 16:00 Uhr statt. Und zwar im Seminarraum 134A, Turm B (gelber Bereich), 5. Stock.

Kurzfassung: Different secondary precipitates in 9-12 % chromium rich steels were characterized in transmission electron
microscopes (TEM) by using integrated spectroscopic techniques such as high resolution electron energy loss
spectroscopy (EELS) and X-ray spectroscopy. These data combined with energy filtered TEM, high resolution TEM
and some off line methods like phase diagrams and near edge fine structure of interstitial elements (B, C, N, O) may
help to understand the nucleation of different phases. All these methods have been used to identify different complex
nitride phases like MN (VN), M2N? (Cr2N?) and modified Z-phases (CrVN?). MN particles having vanadium rich cores
with very thin chromium rich shells structures have been observed in very early formed modified Z phases. Elemental
quantification of EEL spectra suggests that a transformation of both MN and M2N? into modified Z phase despite of
their different crystallographic structure it may be possible if a diffusion of the nitrogen is accounted.
